Would a Microsoft Office Compatibility pack give me Microsoft word?

I was wondering if it would give me these programs or if this is just a pack that goes WITH already existing software.

No. The compatibility pack allows older versions of Office to open documents made by newer versions (like 2007 documents in 2000). If you need free office software, try OpenOffice:
